Lucknow, Amrit thoughts. Despite the rain, devotees lined up in the major pagoda of the capital on the last Monday of Sawan.
The devotees kept in line for hours soaked in the rain and after their turn came to Bholenath with milk, water and offered flowers, Dhatura, Belpatra, Mishthan etc.
The doors of Mankameshwar temple were opened at two o’clock in the night.
Before that, there was a line from the temple gate to Daliganj bridge.
Sometimes Rimjhim, sometimes it rained heavy and the devotees slowly moved towards the temple. Similarly, long lines continued in Budheshwar temple. Devotees waited for their turn and worshiped Bholenath after Jalabhishek when the number arrived.
A large number of Shiva devotees performed Jalabhishek in the Bada Shivala temple with the largest Shivling in North India.
The specialty of this temple is that Jalabhishek is performed on the big Shivling and its water goes to 108 Shivlingas installed there. In this temple, Vijay Pradosh performs Rudrabhishek throughout the month of Sawan.
There was a gathering of Shiva devotees throughout the day of Sawan at Chhota Shivala in Rani Katra, Old Lucknow. It is believed about Chhota Shivala, known as Chhoti Kashi, that the one who offers water continuously for 40 days gets mental peace.
Rudrabhishek was started from 6 am at Dwadash Jyotirlinga Dham located in Sadar Bazar. This is the only temple in the capital where 12 Jyotirlingas are seen together.
Devotees’ ravines continued throughout the day of Sawan at Koneshwar Mahadev Temple at Chowk. People stood in line for hours with full discipline and waiting for their number. Gradually, he got a chance of Jalabhishek. The devotees sought the welfare of themselves and the family by performing Jalabhishek.
Devotees gathered in Bhanwreshwar amid rain
Despite the rain on the last Monday of Sawan, lakhs of devotees devotees arrived at the Bhavreshwar Mahadev temple for darshan and worship. From morning till late evening, the pagoda continued to resonate with the joy of Har Har Mahadev. Devotees offered anointing Ganga water, milk, curd and offered bell letters, Dhatura, Shami Patra, flowers etc. to Shiva. Bhajan-kirtan also continued.
Millions of devotees from many districts visited
Apart from Lucknow, devotees from Rae Bareli, Unnao and other districts also reach the Bhavreshwar Mahadev Temple on the banks of the Sai River. The crowd of devotees increased due to the last Monday of Sawan. Devotees started arriving from Sunday night despite the rain for two days. Special security arrangements were made by the temple administration and police. Nigohan police station in -charge Anuj Kumar Tiwari said that apart from Nigohan police station, the police of Rae Bareli district were also ready. Volunteers were also engaged for the convenience of devotees.
Shivji’s consecration by bringing Ganga water from Bithur
A batch of Kanwari from Majra Ater of Gram Panchayat Sasan in the area went to take Ganga water from Bithoor in Kanpur. These Kanwariya reached Maa Barahi Devi Temple of Ater village on Monday. The batch returned to the temple with postal kanvad. Due to the last Monday, there was more crowd of devotees in the temple. From morning to evening, there was a queue for darshan and worship.
