There are highest number of bookings for marriages in February. Guest houses are full, DJ, band, confectioners are not available. Those who have not been able to get a guest house are trying to book a lawn. According to hotel and guest house owners, 80 percent of the city’s establishments have been booked for January 22 and February 2.
According to astrologer SS Nagpal, there are continuous auspicious times from 16th January to 6th March. Highest number of marriages take place on 22 January and 2 February. There are chances of maximum marriage till 26th January. After this, there are chances of marriage continuously from 2nd to 25th February. Yoga is being formed by getting married on 4 dates from 1st March to 6th March. Last year, on 22 January, Lord Ram’s life was consecrated in Ayodhya, due to which this date is considered very auspicious for marriage. Basant Panchami on 2nd February is also very auspicious for marriage. If you get married on these two dates, your married life will be very happy.
Alambagh’s 25 year old DJ band businessman Manish Arora told that Sahalag is starting from 16th. 16 18 19, 23 24 are busy dates. Now the booking of DJ has to be refused. Sahalag is very strong on 2nd, 7th, 9th, 16th and 20th in February. Advance booking has been done for these dates also, now people are having to refuse booking. Jitendra Sonkar, who works in the band, said that due to the large number of marriages, people from the village have been called for banks and chandeliers.
Vijay Kumar, President of Tent, Caterers and Decorators Welfare Association, said that 80 percent booking has been done. Arrangements have been started at many places including lawns and hotels. The tent has been booked. Things are being collected for the dates. Booking is full. Sunil Kumar Singh, manager of the guest house located in Para, said that there are less dates for booking in January but February and March are fully booked. Bookings are coming till June.

Lohri will be celebrated on 13th and Makar Sankranti on 14th.
Lohri, a major festival of the Sikh and Punjabi communities, will be celebrated on Monday. Lohri is celebrated a day before Makar Sakranti.
