There is a special place in Madhuban, Mathura, called Krishna Kund. It is quite famous for the beliefs and identity associated with Lord Krishna. Its history is associated with Lord Vishnu and his devotee King Amrish. It is said that Lord Krishna dug this pond using his flute so that his cows could drink water when they were thirsty. Ramjilal, the co-sevadar of the temple, said that Raja Amrish comes every day to take a bath in the Krishna Kund located in village Maholi of Thana Highway area of Mathura. People living nearby say that they have seen Raja Amrish taking a bath in the Kund.

People say that at around 12:00 in the night, King Amrish comes riding on a black horse to take a bath in Krishna Kund. After taking a bath, Amrish gets absorbed in the meditation of God. His journey and bath takes place in the silence of the night. This devotion of King Amrish remains a matter of deep faith and mystery in Braj even today.
