Lucknow, Amrit thoughts: The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is starting from Wednesday. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the devotees and preparations are in full swing to welcome Bappa. From homes to grand pandals across the city, the echo of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ is being heard. This ten-day festival will be filled with devotion, worship and cultural events of Ganapati. Many grand pandals have been established in the city, which remain the center of attraction.
A 15,000 square -foot air -conditioned and waterproof pandal with a replica of Delhi’s Akshardham Temple in Jhulelal Vatika is a special attraction. A replica of BrahMos missile is also imposed for the audience here. A 51 feet high Shivling pandal has been established in Nishatganj, which is being seen as a grand event in the history of Lucknow. The ‘Raja of Lucknow’ of the Chowk, which has now been shifted to Ram Manohar Lohia lawn, is famous for Ganpati’s silver crown and a statue adorned with garlands.
The pandal of Aminabad is based on the theme of promoting offline shopping this year. Artists of Bhatkhande Sanskriti University at Paper Mill Colony Metropolis will give traditional music and cultural performances. Marathi cuisine stalls have been set up by Maharashtrian Samaj on Latush Road, while a grand Ganesh pandal has also been installed in Journalistpuram. Devotees will offer prayers to Modak by worshiping Bappa.
