Umesh Gupta, Nigohan Amrit thoughts: Not only the history of the Bhavanreshwar temple in Nigohan, but there is a strong reverence for the devotees. It is located about 6 km from the Sai River from Shival Nigohan. According to mythological beliefs, Pandava came here with Mata Kunti during the unknown in Dwapar.
Kunti did not take food and water without Shiva worship. Then Bhima established the Shivling here. Years later this Shivling was buried in the soil. After hundreds of years, the king of the princely state of Sudauli came to know about this Shivling in his dream. After which the temple was built and the temple was constructed.
Chief priest Sunil Baba told that the Mughal ruler came to destroy the Aurangzeb temple. When he tried to break the Shivling, millions of whirlpools attacked the Mughal army. Aurangzeb had to retreat after being afraid of this miraculous incident. A part of the Shivling still looks broken due to the injury of the hand. Since then, this temple was named Bhawanreshwar.
After the Mughals, the British excavated to check the historicity of the temple, but once the excavation started, a large number of people who came out in large numbers broke down on the workers and officers. Due to fear, the British officers had to stop the excavation and they left. Later, Ganesh Sahiba, wife of King Rampal Singh of Sudauli, renovated the temple. This temple, situated on the banks of the Sai River, is very important not only religiously but also from a historical point of view. It is believed that every wish sought from true mind is fulfilled here.
