Narasimha Dwadashi fast story
According to the legend, in ancient times there was a sage named Kashyapa. Whose wife’s name was Diti and her two sons were Hiranyaksha and the second Hiranyakashyap. It is said that both of them were the sons of the sage, even after this, their tendency had become asura. Both brothers created a ruckus all around. In such a situation, Lord Vishnu killed Hiranyaksha to protect the earth in the form of Varaha. Hiranyakashyap was very sad due to the death of his brother and from the same day he started considering Lord Vishnu as his enemy. After this, Hiranyakashyap started doing harsh penance to avenge his vengeance, pleased with which he got the desired boon from Brahma ji.

After this, he attacked heaven and defeated the gods. In this way he became the lord of the three worlds. In this way, he became very ego on his power that he started thinking of himself as a deity. The atrocities of Hiranyakashyap, immersed in ego, are increasing. In some time, his wife Kayadhu gave birth to a son named Prahlada. Who was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu. When Prahlada grew up a little, Hiranyakashyap asked him to worship himself, but Prahlada’s mind was only engaged in devotion to Lord Vishnu, so the father did not affect anything.

Seeing his son engaged in devotion to Lord Vishnu, Hiranyakashyap’s anger was no longer there, he made many efforts to remove Prahlada’s mind from devotion to Lord Vishnu. But after not getting success in any efforts, he finally tried to burn her in the fire with her sister Holika. Because Holika had a boon that she would not be able to burn the fire. But by the grace of Lord Vishnu, Prahlada rang and Holika was burnt to consume.

In such a situation, seeing this amazing grace of God, the subjects of deer Kashyapa also started doing devotion to Lord Vishnu. On which the deer Kashyap was very angry and decided to punish his son in a full meeting. Then he tied Prahlada in his court with a pillar and said, you say that there is God in your particle. So you call your God to save you from this pillar and save you. Saying this deer Kashyapa attacked the pillar with mace. At the same time, Narasimha appeared there and he put Hiranyakashyap on his thighs and tore his chest with his nails and gave him death penalty.
