Varanasi, Amrit Vichar: The tradition of exchange of pilgrimage water has been launched on Sunday between Shri Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga and Shri Rameswaram Jyotirlinga of Tamil Nadu.
Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, said that under this, the holy water and sand received from Triveni Sangam of Prayagraj and Kodi Tirtham water of Rameswaram will be used for worship and consecration with devotion and reverence in both the Jyotirlingas. The representative party of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Special Area Development Council and Temple Trust stored holy water and sand with a duly worshiped from Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj.
The water of Triveni Sangam will be offered to Lord Vishveshwar at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple on 28 July 2025 (Holy Monday of Shravan month). After this, this water and sand will be handed over to the representatives of Shri Rameswaram Jyotirlinga. Water sent from Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham will be used for consecration in the month of Shravan of Lord Ramanathswamy in Shri Rameswaram. At the same time, the sacred water sent from Rameswaram will be used for the Jalabhishek of Shri Vishveshwar on Shravan Purnima. This unique Sanatan innovation is an innovative attempt to strengthen the spirit of spiritual unity, cultural coordination and nationalism among major pilgrimage sites like Kashi, Prayagraj and Rameswaram.
