Shradh Paksha 2024: Shradh Paksha is going on. This time Shradh Paksha has started from Pratipada Tithi on 18th September. Which will end on 02nd October. On the date on which any ancestor of the family died, Shradh, Tarpan and Pinddaan are performed on the same date in Pitru Paksha for the peace of soul and salvation of the ancestors. It is believed that by doing this the ancestors are pleased and keep their blessings on the members of the house. Tomorrow, 24th September is the Ashtami Tithi of Ashwin month. Those who have an ancestor of the house died on the Ashtami Tithi of any month, they can perform Tarpan and Shradh of ancestors on the Ashtami Tithi of Shradh Paksha. Brahmins are fed a feast in the Shradh of ancestors. Some things should be kept in mind while feeding Brahmins on the day of Shradh. What kind of food should be prepared for Shraddha?
It is considered good to prepare kheer-puri for Brahmins on the day of Shraddha. It is believed that this satisfies the ancestors.
On the day of Shraddha of ancestors, you can prepare kheer-puri and vegetables and feed the Brahmins.
Most of the food for Shraddha should be of the choice of the ancestors.
Prepare satvik food for Brahmin feast on Shraddha.
After the meal, bid farewell respectfully to the Brahmins by giving them alms and feeding them betel leaves.
Do not include these things in the food of Shraddha:
Urad dal, gram, lentil, sattu, radish, black cumin, cucumber, gourd, onion, garlic, mustard, stale food etc. should not be included in the food for Shraadh.
