What to do and what not to do on Hartalika Teej-
On the day of Hartalika Teej, wake up early in the morning and take a bath, after that wear clean clothes and worship Shiva Parvati in a proper manner, and also fast throughout the day. On this day do perform Abhishek of Shivling and offer Bel leaves. Apart from this, offer Suhaag items to Goddess Parvati. Women should definitely observe Nirjala fast on this day. The Vrat Katha should definitely be read or listened to during the puja. It is also good to do charity on this day. Apart from this, chant Shiva mantras. It is necessary for married women to do the sixteen adornments on the day of Teej. This leads to unending good fortune. Married women should offer makeup items on this day.
On the day of Hartalika Teej, one should avoid consuming meat and alcohol. One should not use abusive language against anyone and should also avoid lying. On the day of Teej, women should not argue or fight with their husbands or anyone else. Sleeping should also be avoided on this day.
