What is mythology?
Bhai Dooj’s legend is associated with Yamraj and Yamuna. According to the legend, once Yamuna invited his brother Yamraj to his house. Yamraj ji accepted this invitation. When he reached his sister’s house, he was very happy with his respect. While leaving his brother, Yamuna also presented a coconut ball to him. Yamraj asked the reason for this, then Yamuna said that this coconut will continue to remind you of me. For this reason, there is a tradition of giving coconut ball to brother on Bhai Dooj.
The right way to do tilak
On the day of Bhai Dooj, make a square square with flour in the auspicious time. Now at this place, brother sit facing east direction. Before the brother’s tilak, keep flowers, paan, betel nut and money on their heads and then tilak them. Now tie the kalava in the brother’s hand and feed them.
