Importance of Yogini Ekadashi
According to religious texts, observing Yogini Ekadashi fast destroys all sins and attains salvation. This fast is especially dedicated to Srihari Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. This fast is considered very beneficial for the person who has found some kind of curse in previous birth or present life. It is believed that by observing a fast on this day and worshiping Lord Vishnu, it gives the virtuous fruit that is obtained by giving food to 88 thousand Brahmins. At the same time, negative energy, disease, mourning and economic crisis of a person’s life ends.
Method of Yogini Ekadashi fast
1. Preparation of fast (from Dashami date)
Follow the sattvikta from the evening of Dashami Tithi, one day before the fast.
Do not consume wheat, barley, moong dal and salt.
Take a pledge for fasting mentally.
2. Fasting method on Ekadashi date
Pledge to fast by getting up in Brahma Muhurta and bathing etc.
Install the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu at the place of worship.
Establish the urn by purifying Ganga water.
Worship God with basil leaves, panchamrit, incense, lamps, sandalwood, yellow flowers and offerings.
Chant the mantra ‘Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya’.
Keep fast throughout the day and meditate on God. Can do fruit.
3. Paran Vidhi (on Dwadashi Tithi)

Do charity before passion-Donation of food, clothes, wealth, cow, water etc. is considered extremely virtuous.

A popular story related to Yogini Ekadashi
According to a legend in the Puranas, hemmali, a Yaksha of Alakapuri, who was the servant of Kubera, was negligent in his duties and was immersed in his wife’s love. Due to the curse of Kubera, he came to Earth as a leper. When he advised Muni Markandeya to fast on Yogini Ekadashi and followed it, he not only got rid of leprosy, but he also returned to the east.
