Tarakasura had a boon that only the son of Lord Shiva could beat him. Thus, he started spreading terror thinking that Mahadev would never marry and hence his son will not be born. But on the prayer of the gods, Mahadev married Parvati and his son Skanda i.e. Kartikeya was born. Lord Skanda killed Tarakasura with his might and freed Trilok from the fear of Tarakasura. This story also reflects the power of Mahadev and the glory of Parvati, and also says that even if an Asura gets a powerful boon, even then it has no effect in front of God’s will and divine plan.
