Amrit Vichar, BKT: Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple is described in Shiva Mahapuran. According to Shiva Mahapuran, Usha Mukteshwar, the daughter of Banasura, used to worship Lord Shiva here. A statue of Usha made of igneous stone is also installed in the temple. The fort and the temple were broken by the Mughal rulers. The idol of Usha was broken. In the year 1836, the temple was renovated by King Rampal Singh of Itounja Estate. The temple of Mukteshwar Mahadev, Ratneshwar Temple of Itounja, Kareshwar Mahadev Temple of Kumharawan and Mahadev Temple of Shivpuri are of a period.
It is mentioned in Shivpuran that many Shivling have been established in the area of Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple for thousands of years. A large number of devotees perform Jalabhishek here in Mahashivaratri and Sawan. Their wishes are fulfilled. Priest Pandit Ram Gopal told that I have been worshiping Lord Shankar in the temple for many years.
A fair of reverence is held here in Sawan. Devotees get immense energy here. People have faith in this ancient temple. How to reach-Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple Bakshi Ka Talab’s Deori Rukhara is established in Gram Panchayat.
Its distance from BKT town is three kilometers. About eight hundred meters from the National Highway Sitapur Road, the Deori Rukhhara railway crossing has to be crossed and reached the temple.
