Renault has launched the Renault Kwid E-TECH, the electric version of its affordable hatchback car Kwid. The company claims that it will offer a range of up to 298 km on a full charge. Its design has been kept similar to the standard model. However, some changes are also seen. It gets a new type of grille, E-TECH badging and new alloy wheels. Talking about the interior, the biggest change is seen in the form of instrument cluster and 4-spoke steering wheel. The circular gear selector has been given in it like the regular Kwid.
Renault KWID e-Tech comes with features like 7-inch touchscreen system, all power windows, manual AC and voice recognition. For safety, it gets ABS with brake assist, hill-start assist, electronic stability control, 6 airbags and tire pressure monitoring. This electric hatchback has a 65PS electric motor with 26.8kWh battery. In Eco mode, it delivers 44PS of power to optimize battery life.

The company claims that the Kwid Electric can accelerate from 0-50 kmph in 4.1 seconds. According to the company, it will run up to 298 km in full charge. It also features regenerative braking, which charges its battery. It comes with 7kW Wallbox charger and DC fast charger for charging. It takes only 40 minutes to charge it from 15 to 80 percent through a DC charger.

Currently, the company has brought this model to Brazil, where its price has been kept at Rs 23.20 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes in a total of three color options – Green, Polar White and Diamond Silver. The Kwid sold in India is priced between Rs 4.5 lakh and Rs 5.83 lakh. Renault has not announced any plans to launch the EVs in India.
