Japanese carmaker Suzuki Motor Corporation plans to invest USD 1.26 billion to manufacture electric vehicles and batteries in India. This information has been given in a news.
There is a proposal to set up a battery plant near Suzuki’s automobile manufacturing unit in Gujarat and the total investment on the new plant is estimated to be around 150 billion yen (US$1.26 billion), the daily newspaper Nikkei reported.
Apart from this, electric vehicles will also be promoted in India. The investment is included in the total investment from Japan announced during the summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida, the news said.
