Lucknow News: The Lucknow Municipal Corporation launched a comprehensive campaign on Tuesday in view of the continuous increasing illegal encroachment and traffic obstacles in the city. This action was taken on the instructions of Mayor Sushma Kharkwal and on the orders of Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar. The purpose of which is to provide smooth and safe traffic to the citizens.
Goods seized during campaign
The campaign conducted in the presence of police administration was led by zonal officer Shilpa Kumari. He was accompanied by a joint team of Engineering Department Health Department and 296. Under this campaign, temporary encroachments were removed from Bamboo Mandi intersection in the ward of Motilal Nehru Chandrabhanu Gupta Nagar area to Hyder Canal via Naka intersection. During this period 1 counter, 2 tables, 4 boards and flex were seized.
Challan cut and German recovered
Apart from this, challans were deducted against encroachments and dirt spreaders and a fine of 3000 was charged. Officials said that the purpose of the campaign is not just to remove encroachments but also to give a message that illegal occupation of public places will not be tolerated. The Municipal Corporation has appealed to the people that they themselves can remove encroachments and avoid future action and penalty.
Mayor requested to follow rules
Mayor Sushma Kharkwal said that the Municipal Corporation is constantly active to maintain the beauty and traffic system of the city. Appealing for cooperation from the citizens, requested to follow the rules. Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar said that this campaign will continue continuously and no laxity will be taken. He has warned of strict action against the encroachers.
