Skoda on Monday launched the new Kushak Monte Carlo in India with prices starting at Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This is the new top-spec model in the Kushak line-up and is priced at over Rs 70,000 more than the equivalent styling variant. The Skoda Kushak Monte Carlo has received cosmetic updates on the interiors and exteriors.
What’s new
Kushaq Monte Carlo gets an all-black exterior treatment, which replaces all the chrome and silver elements of the standard car. The grille, wing mirrors, roof rails, door handles and bumper inserts are finished in black, and so are the front and rear skid plates. It also gets a new set of 17-inch alloy wheels which coincidentally look similar to the previous-gen Octavia RS 245. You also get red brake callipers with the 1.5 TSI variant.
In terms of cosmetic treatments, the Skoda Kushak Monte Carlo Edition gets a black treatment on the exterior which includes the grille, roof and rear-view mirrors. The chrome treatment on the SUV has been replaced with black and the badging of the SUV is also black. In terms of wheels, the SUV gets 17-inch alloy wheels which are similar to the older generation of Octavia (RS 245). The front fenders of the SUV get Monte Carlo badging while the letters ‘SKODA’ and ‘Kushak’ on the tailgate are also in black.
The interior of the Kushak Monte Carlo Edition is equipped with an 8-inch fully digital instrument cluster with red graphics to go with the Monte Carlo theme. Currently, the SUV gets an analog unit. The Monte Carlo variant gets dual-tone red-black upholstery while the dashboard, center console and all the four doors also get red accents. The Monte Carlo variant is based on the top trim of the Skoda Kushak styled variant. The Kushak Monte Carlo is available in only two exterior colors – Red and White.
Important features available on the SUV are full LED headlamps, ventilated front seats, automatic headlamps and wipers, IRVM with auto-dimming feature, audio system with 6 speakers, tire pressure monitoring system, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker sound system with subwoofer, six airbags and a tire pressure monitoring system, among others. It does not have a panoramic sunroof.
Skoda Kushak Monte Carlo: Engine Options
The Kushak Monte Carlo variant is offered with two engine variants – 1.0-litre, three-cylinder TSI engine and 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI engine. The 1.0L variant offers 115 hp of peak power and 175Nm of maximum torque. The 1.5L variant, on the other hand, produces 150 hp of power and 250Nm of torque. The Monte Carlo variant is expected to be in automatic as well as manual transmission variants.
The new Kushaq Monte Carlo Edition will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta Knight Edition and the Kia Seltos X-Line, which offer similar cosmetic updates to the Kushaq Monte Carlo.
