Tata Motors has launched the long-range version of the Nexon EV, which Tata Nexon EV Max is known as. The new variant is priced from ₹ 17.74 Lakh, going up to ₹ 19.24 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The model gets an upgraded 40.5 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of over 437 km. The model has seen several upgrades on the feature front including changes in the cabin, center console as well as more safety and tech onboard. The new Nexon EV MAX will be available in two trims – XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. It is available in 3 colors – Intensi-Teal (exclusive to Nexon EV Max), Daytona Gray and Pristine White. Dual-tone color will be standard.

Visually, the new long-range Tata Nexon EV Max will remain largely the same as the regular model, and we see a ‘Max’ badge being added to the EV. Note that the Nexon EV Max will be sold with the standard version. The cabin remains largely unchanged but gets an updated center console that houses a new rotary dial along with a display unit that shows you that mode and other features. There is also a new jewel knob with Active Mode display, new Makrana beige interior, leatherette seats with ventilation for front passengers, air purifier, wireless charging, auto-dimming IRVM and cruise control.
The Nexon EV Max gets 3 driving modes – Eco, City and Sport and gets eight new features on the advanced ZConnect 2.0 connected car technology. The ZConnect app offers 48 connected car features. This will help in getting deep drive analytics and diagnostics. The add-on feature list includes smartwatch integration, auto/manual DTC checks, monthly vehicle reports, enhanced drive analytics, etc. Tata has also introduced the multi-mode region feature which comes with four region levels depending on the driving conditions: The SUV also comes with auto brake lamps and gets activated after achieving a certain level of region.
Equipped with a 40.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the Nexon EV Max delivers 33 percent more battery capacity, providing an ARAI certified range of 437 km (under standard test conditions). In comparison, the standard Nexon EV offers a range of 312 km on a single charge. The Nexon EV Max generates power of 141 bhp and peak torque of 250 Nm. The company claims to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in under 9 seconds. The new offering is around 100kg heavier with around 70kg of weight coming from the bigger battery alone.
Tata has also improved the charging time on the Nexon EV Max which will be available with options of 3.3kWh charger or 7.2kWh AC fast charger. The 7.2 kW AC fast charger can be used at home or at work. This helps in reducing the charging time to 6.5 hours. The Nexon EV Max supports a fast charging time of 0-80 percent from any 50kW DC fast charger in just 56 minutes.
On the safety front, the Nexon EV Max comes equipped with features like i-VBAC (Intelligent – Vacuum-less Boost and Active Control) with ESP, hill hold, hill descent control, and disc brakes on all wheels, and an electronic parking brake . With auto vehicle hold function. Tata is offering an 8 year/160,000 km warranty on the motor and battery pack with an aim to provide a peaceful ownership experience.
