VIP Number: If you are planning to put a VIP number of your choice on your vehicle, then strengthen your pocket a little more. The government has now turned its eyes on this rich hobby of yours. Where people are ready to spend not lakhs but crores of rupees on this hobby. The beginning of which has been made by the Maharashtra government. There is a long queue to get VIP numbers to make the vehicles look different on the road. To put a stop to this hobby of theirs, a steep increase in prices has been issued in Maharashtra.
This is the first change in fees since 2013
Due to the demand for VIP numbers for vehicles, the Maharashtra government has announced such a hike in fee for the first time in more than 10 years since 2013.
After which now the price of the favorite number of the vehicle owners has been increased.
In a notification dated August 30, the state transport department said ‘0001’ number plate for four-wheelers will now cost Rs 6 lakh in Mumbai, Pune and other high demand areas.
The government has also increased the prices of out-of-series VIP numbers substantially.
These will be the new prices
Due to the increase in the prices of VIP numbers by the Maharashtra government, now vehicle owners will have to pay the fee according to the new price. According to the notification issued by the government, the fee for two-wheelers and three-wheelers will be doubled from the current Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh.
It has also been said in this notification that, a search shows that VIP numbers are most in demand by vehicle owners in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Raigad, Aurangabad, Nashik, Kolhapur and Nashik. Keeping in mind the enthusiasm and extravagance of the people, the fee here has been increased by 2 lakhs from 4 lakhs to 6 lakhs. Whereas for four-wheelers, to get the ‘0001’ number series, one had to spend 3 lakhs at present, which has now been increased by 2 lakhs to 5 lakhs.
The price of out-of-series numbers has also increased
Now the Maharashtra government has imposed a steep increase in the prices of out-of-series VIP numbers due to the increase in special registration number fee. Now in special metro cities like Pune and Mumbai, their prices have increased by lakhs of rupees, which has now increased to Rs 18 lakh. This new increased fee is equal to the price of many mid-segment cars available at a price of 5 to 10 lakhs. On the other hand, this fee will be Rs 3 lakh for two-wheelers and three-wheelers. This fee has been increased to Rs 15 lakh for four-wheelers as well as loader vehicles.
