In fact, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday ordered banks to increase the availability of these currency notes. According to PTI news, RBI asked banks to get 100 and 200 rupee notes out of ATMs. Banks and white label ATM operators (WLAO) must apply this instruction in a phased manner.

Instructions to all banks and white label ATM operators

According to the news, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said in a circular that it has been decided that all banks and white label ATM operators (WLAAOs) will ensure that 100 and Rs 200 notes are taken out of their ATMs on regular basis. According to the circular, by September 30, 2025, 75 percent of all ATMs (Automated Taylor Machines) will be released from a cassette of Rs 100 or Rs 200 from a cassette.

Customers have complained

By March 31, 2026, 90 percent out of all ATMs will be withdrawn from a cassette of Rs 100 or Rs 200. Customers have complained many times whether 100 and 200 rupee notes come out of ATMs or do not come out. Most 500 rupee notes are released. After this new circular of RBI, such complaints will be seen to be seen.

ATM fee rules will change from May 1

From May 1, 2025, the infrastructure updated by the Reserve Bank of India for ATM transaction fee will be implemented. This will change free transaction limit, fee for additional transactions and interchange fee structure across the country. From May 1, customers will be entitled to a certain number of free ATM transactions every month. Under this, three transactions will be free in metropolitan areas and five in non-planetary areas. These transactions include both financial and non-financial activities.
