New Delhi, December 23 (IANS). Data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Monday showed that about 1.345 crore subscribers had applied for Mobile Number Port (MNP) in October this year.
Due to this, the cumulative figure of MNP applications filed so far has increased to 105.25 crore in October, which has increased to 103.9 crore in September.
According to TRAI, the number of active wireless subscribers in October is 106.66 crore.
According to information received from 1,175 operators, the total number of broadband subscribers stood at 94.14 crore at the end of October.
The total number of wireless subscribers stood at 115 crore at the end of October, registering a marginal monthly decline of 0.29 per cent.
The number of wireline subscribers has increased from 36 million at the end of September to 37 million at the end of October.
Private companies had 91.78 per cent share of wireless subscribers as of October 31, while BSNL and MTNL had only 8.22 per cent share.
The number of machine-to-machine (M2M) cellular mobile connections increased from 54.6 million at the end of September to 56.1 million at the end of October.
Bharti Airtel Limited has the highest number of M2M cellular mobile connections at 29 million, with a market share of 51.82 percent.
Total tele-density in India was 84.69 percent at the end of September, which declined to 84.46 percent at the end of October.
The urban tele-density during the same period was 131.31 percent, while the rural tele-density was 58.39 percent. The share of urban and rural subscribers in the total telephone subscribers at the end of October was 55.58 percent and 44.42 percent respectively.
According to October data, Reliance Jio has 47.48 crore mobile subscribers.
At the same time, Bharti Airtel has 28.7 crore customers, Vodafone Idea has 12.5 crore customers and BSNL has 3.6 crore customers.
In total market share, Reliance Jio is at the top with 39.99 percent, followed by Bharti Airtel at second place with 33.50 percent.
Vodafone Idea and BSNL have 18.30 percent and 8.05 percent market share respectively.
