70 percent e-commerce and tech startups in India will appoint freshers, AI-centric roles will be demanded

New Delhi, 22 April (IANS). About 70 percent of e-commerce and tech startups in India intend to appoint freshers with high demand for AI-centric roles in the first half of 2025. This information was given in a report on Tuesday.

74 percent of the employers in the country intend to appoint freshers for the January-June period, in which AI-related roles remain important.

According to Teamlies Edtech’s ‘Career Outlook Report 2025’, this increase in demand for roles related to AI is also in accordance with the government’s efforts to strengthen the country’s commitment to technological progress and workforce.

The annual Union Budget has allocated Rs 500 crore for the ‘Center of Excellence in AI’ for education, which shows India’s enthusiasm to promote AI research and skills on a large scale.

The report stated that these changes also indicate the important role of AI with increased funding for productivity and automation, especially R&D, digital infrastructure and high-tech skilling programs.

Jaideep Kevalramani, head of Teamlies Edtech’s employee’s employee business and COO, said, “Developing job market is redefincely defines of the method of evaluation of talent. Employers are no longer recruiting for degrees, those data are giving priority to skills in fields such as datums visualization, cloud computing and robotics. Cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai and Chennai remain major employment centers, the intention of recruiting these cities has reached 78 percent, 65 percent and 57 percent respectively.

Companies are looking for talented people who understand robotic process automation, performance marketing, network security and financial risk analysis.

The most demanded ‘soft skills’ for entry level posts reflect a mixture of technical and mutual abilities.
