A big relief has been given to the army personnel by the Ministry of Defense. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has given permission on such a proposal, under which the welfare of the armed forces personnel can be ensured. Earlier, submission of No Accommodation Certificate (NAC) was mandatory to become eligible for House Rent Allowance (HRA). But after the approval of the proposal, it will no longer be mandatory for HR to give NAC.
According to the Ministry of Defense, this benefit will be given to those employees who have not been allotted government accommodation. Now such employees can claim for HR even without submitting NAC and can get benefits under three categories xyz of HR.
Under the extant policy, personnel had to apply separately for issuance of NAC from the respective housing offices, resulting in delay in release of HRA claims and non-payment of allowances to employees in time. Due to this the employees had to go through financial crisis many times. But with this amendment, it will be easier to claim for HRA.
A statement issued by the ministry said that the revised policy is an important step in line with the policy of the government for simplification of existing procedures. The revised policy will result in reduction in paperwork and enable quicker allotment of HRA to Armed Forces personnel.
Let us tell you that recently the dearness allowance has been increased by three percent by the central government. After which now 34 percent dearness allowance will be given to the employees from January 2022. In such a situation, employees with minimum salary more than 6 thousand annually and employees with maximum salary will get a benefit of 18 thousand rupees. Apart from this, it is also being discussed that the central government can also increase the HRA of the employees.
