New Delhi, 28 June (IANS). Due to the focus on infrastructure by the Government of India, 88 percent of the manufacturers are planning to invest capital to increase their operations in the country. This information was given in a report.

The report stated that there is a high optimism on the impact of large infrastructure projects of the government like Bharatmala, Sagarmala, Dedicated Freight Corridor and National Industrial Corridor Development.

According to the report, 86 percent of the manufacturers believe that these projects have positively affected their commercial operations, while 95 percent reported that their access to logistics and transport infrastructure has improved as a result.

The report stated that this effect is even greater for large enterprises, as 94 percent say these upgrade have been important in shaping their expansion plans.

The construction of infrastructure has prepared the basis for industrial expansion, production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes and government policies like ‘Make in India’ are shaping strategic priorities.

“India’s manufacturing sector is undergoing a period of structural change. Our findings indicate a strong coordination between policy clarity and industry intentions,” said Gautam Saraf, Executive Managing Director (Mumbai and New Business), Kushman & Wackfield.

He further stated that to maintain this speed, India must especially remove the deep gap between logistics, integrated features and cost and capacity in MSME productivity.
