New Delhi, 18 April (IANS). Renewable energy company ‘Reenu’ inaugurated the 1.3 GW Peak Solar Project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan under the ‘self -sufficient India’ initiative in the country.
Renew, which operates more than 150 projects spread over 10 states of the country, has developed the project using 100 percent ‘Made-Bai-Arenu’ solar panels, out of which 90 percent of which has been built at the solar model manufacturing plant in Jaipur, Reenu.
According to Rinue, for the first time in the country, such a large -scale project has been completed with a completely indigenous module. It was unveiled by New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi. He said that this day is a historic milestone for the country and is also special for Rajasthan, which is becoming the center of renewable energy revolution according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hypothesis.
He said, “The inauguration of about 1.3 gigawatt peak solar site in Jaisalmer is a great example of the contribution to self-sufficient India, which is fully built with the Made-in-India module, with 90 percent built in Rajasthan.”
It is noteworthy that there is a sufficient increase in renewable energy sector in the country, with the wind power capacity of 42.8 GW by April 2023 and is expected to increase to 63 GW by 2030.
According to the recent information given by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the country’s renewable energy capacity in FY 2024-25 has increased by a record of 29.52 gW and has increased to 220.10 GW. According to the ministry, solar energy contributed 23.83 GW to this growth.
