Mumbai, May 29 (IANS). Adani Electricity said on Thursday that it recently inaugurated a state -of -the -art 220 KV Digital Substation at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). This will meet the increasing power demands of BKC, Bandra East, Bandra West, Khar West, Santa Cruz East and Surrounding areas.
This substation will support commercial, residential and infrastructure projects in BKC and surrounding areas, which will strengthen the role of Adani Electricity in Mumbai’s economic and urban expansion.
This strategic infrastructure upgrade enhances Mumbai’s power transmission network, ensuring reliable and efficient power supply for current requirements and future development.
According to the company, this innovative substation IEC-61850 process bus uses technology, due to which copper cables have decreased by 92 percent and the control room footprint has been reduced by 50 percent.
This feature is in environmentally friendly 220 KV 2×125 MVA power transformer, providing better fire safety, better performance and more life. With state -of -the -art technology and smart grid capabilities, this substation transmission will reduce losses and improve the stability of the entire grid.
Confirming the credibility further, the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has recently approved 220 KV connectivity between Adani Electricity Aare and BKC substations.
A spokesman for Adani Electricity said, “The operation of this 220 KV substation is an important step in securing future power supply for this vibrant and rapidly growing area of Mumbai. Due to increasing infrastructure, increasing number of new buildings and offices, power demand continues to increase, we are valid, high-quality and dominant energy solutions.”
This investment is in accordance with the commitment of acting electricity to strengthen Mumbai’s power structure and ensure uninterrupted and sustainable energy solutions for businesses and residents.
