Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masato Kanda supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Developed India 2047’ view in her meeting with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. At the same time, Finance Minister Sitharaman also reiterated that India focuses on private sector economic growth and is constantly making a favorable policy and regulatory ecosystem.
The Finance Minister is leading an Indian delegation from the Department of Economic Affairs to attend the 58th annual meeting of the Board of Governors of ADB held in Milan, Italy from 4 to 7 May.
In a post on social media platform X, the ministry said, “Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met ADB President Kanda in Milan.”
The ministry said, “The Union Finance Minister reiterated that India focuses on private sector -led economic growth and insolvency, bankrupt tax rate reduction and GST implementation, production incentives, national infrastructure pipelines, activity national master plan and startup India are constantly making a comprehensive policy and regulatory initiatives through adventure and startup India, so that there is an easy -to -do business. yes.”
Finance Minister Sitharaman also emphasized that India offers ADB opportunities to run new, innovative financial finance products and models.
The ministry said, “Kanda expressed full support of ADB for the development priorities of the country directed by Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Developed India 2047’.”
Finance Minister Sitharaman will also hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts in Italy, Japan and Bhutan on the occasion of ADB’s 58th annual meeting. In addition, the President of International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) and Japan will also hold meetings with Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Governor.
