Mundra, 5 March (IANS). The Adani Foundation honored more than 1,000 ‘Lakhpati Didis’ at an event in Mundra, Kutch, Gujarat on Wednesday before the International Women’s Day (8 March).
Adani Foundation is continuously working to empower women in Kutch and make them self -sufficient. By providing necessary assistance and guidance for this and facilitating their skill development and entrepreneurship opportunities, the Foundation is committed to improving their socio-economic conditions and promoting their financial freedom.
Reiterating its commitment to create a gender-appropriate workforce and society, Adani Foundation also celebrated the collective firmness of more than 614 women working in Adani Solar on the occasion.
The Foundation has played an important role in gathering, encouraging and advising women to join Adani Solar in various types of job roles including engineering posts in technical associates, HR, manufacturing and production departments.
In addition, Adani Foundation has also helped more than 850 women to become self -sufficient by increasing entrepreneurship skills.
On this occasion, Gujarat CSR chief Pankati Shah of Adaani Foundation emphasized the collective responsibility of the society to promote gender equality.
He said, “Women are required to support family, community and corporate sector to make true progress. When women are given the right to balance their professional and personal life, they not only achieve excellence in their careers, but also bring positive changes in their family and society.”
Adani Solar has dedicated facilities for women employees, which reflect the company’s commitment to promote gender inclusion at workplaces. These include the availability of locker room, canteen and pink toilet as well as transport facilities with security personnel, ensuring the convenience and safety of women at the workplace.
Talking about his journey, Technical Associate Garhvi Sonal Ram in Adani Solar said, “Today I am financially independent and capable of maintaining my family, which is no less than a dream to come true for me. Earlier, it was impossible for my community girls to get out for work due to the unavailability of safe transport. But, I go to my family with dedicated transport facilities and my family, I go to my work and comfortable I am confident about my safety. “
The Adani Foundation has been dedicated to empower women across the country through a series of targeted interventions under its butterfly effect framework for the past nearly three decades. This unique framework is designed to meet the changing needs of women especially from childhood to old age from childhood to old age.
