New Delhi, 12 June (IANS). Boing’s shares slipped more than 6 percent in premarket trading after Air India’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner Plane crashed in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
At 3:31 pm, Boeing shares fell by 6.42 percent to $ 196.51 at $ 196.51.
On Wednesday, Boeing’s stock closed at $ 214, down 0.80 percent.
Produced by Boeing, this Air India aircraft was going from Ahmedabad to London and crashed shortly after flying. The aircraft were riding 242 people, including 10 crew members and three young children.
The accident occurred near Meghaninagar area of Ahmedabad. The aircraft crashed during the take-off. Black smoke has been seen rising in the sky from the scene immediately after the plane crashed. This estimates heavy losses in the aircraft accident.
After the plane crash, several fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. Relief and rescue work is being done. However, no official information has been revealed about how much life and property has been damaged in this accident.
Air India said on social media handle ‘X’, “Flight AI 171 was going from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick. Today has been an accident on 12 June. We are currently investigating the details and will share more information on our social media platform ‘X’ and AI website in this case.”
Boeing company aircraft have been involved in many accidents before. The most recent accident is South Korea’s Jeju Air flight which crashed in late December 2024. According to the data, the aircraft crashed while trying to land and killed 179 people. The aircraft was Boeing 737–800.
