Business News Desk – Pharma sector giant Ajanta Pharma on Monday, October 28, announced the financial results for the second quarter of the current financial year (July-September 2024). Along with the results, the company also announced a special reward for its shareholders. The company declared its first interim dividend for FY2025. Ajanta Pharma has declared 1400 percent dividend for its shareholders. This is the largest dividend ever declared by the company. Ajanta Pharma reported that it made a net profit of Rs 216 crore in the September quarter. This is about 11 percent more than the profit of Rs 195 crore made in the same quarter a year ago. At the same time, the company’s revenue also increased by 5 percent to Rs 1,187 crore during this period, which was Rs 1,028 crore in the same quarter last year.

Along with the quarterly results, Ajanta Pharma announced 1400 percent interim dividend for the current financial year. The company said its board of directors has approved the “first interim dividend for FY2025”. According to this, a dividend of Rs 28 will be given on each share of face value Rs 2. The company will distribute a total dividend of Rs 350 crore. This dividend will benefit 64,315 shareholders of the company. With this dividend of Rs 28 per share, Ajanta Pharma’s total payout in the current financial year will be Rs 701 crore, which is 90 per cent of the cash flow generated in H1FY25.

The company has also announced the record date for this 1400 percent dividend payment to its shareholders. The company said it has set November 6 as the record date to determine the eligibility of shareholders. This means that shareholders must be on the company’s books on November 6 to receive the dividend.

The company said that a dividend of Rs 28 per share will be paid on or after November 15, 2024. During this period, the company’s shares closed at Rs 2921.10 per share on BSE with a decline of 1.68 percent. The market capitalization of Ajanta Pharma currently stands at Rs 36,488.07 crore.
