Bhubaneswar, 26 June (IANS). After serving crores of devotees at the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Adani Group on Thursday announced that it will also serve devotees in the famous Rath Yatra of Puri, Odisha.
Puri Rath Yatra, known as one of the most sacred religious events in India, comes from country and abroad every year.
Keeping in mind the guidance of Chairman Gautam Adani’s faith ‘Seva Hi Sadhana Hai’, Adani Group has launched a massive voluntary initiative to support pilgrims and forward -line workers during the nine -day festival from 26 June to 8 July.
This year, Adani Group will provide about 4 million free food and drinks to the devotees and officials in the Rath Yatra.
Special food counters have been installed throughout the city to distribute nutritious food, while the stalls of beverages are providing cold drinks to people to relieve the scorching heat of Odisha.
Adaani Group Puri is also supporting the beach safety efforts by providing assistance to the Lifeguard Federation.
Volunteers will help clean the beach and remove plastic waste. To assist the people on duty, the group volunteers are distributing free T-shirts, fluorescent security vests for sanitation workers and rain gear including jackets, hats, umbrellas and raincoats for municipal staff and pilgrims.
The initiative is being taken in partnership with Puri district administration, ISKCON and local community groups.
According to sources, the plan of this service started months ago and is being implemented by Adani Group and Volunteers of local communities.
Adani Foundation, which has been active in Odisha through projects in healthcare, school development and rural livelihood, sees this effort as part of a widespread commitment to Indian cultural and spiritual life.
Sources associated with the group say that this form of corporate social responsibility is about connecting with the faith and traditions of the people beyond business and infrastructure.
Earlier this year, during the Mahakumbh Mela, the group participated with ISKCON and Geeta Press to provide food and assistance to millions of pilgrims.
On 21 January, Gautam Adani himself participated in serving food, which shows the core value of the group that social service is not a one -time activity, but a continuous mission.
