New Delhi, 16 June (IANS). The AI 315 flight had to return to Hong Kong on Monday by half the way after flying to Delhi on Monday due to technical fault in Air India’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, after which the aircraft is being tested.
The airline said in a statement that the AI 315 flight has safely landed and all the passengers are being assisted.
According to an Air India spokesperson, the aircraft was returned as a precaution after the pilot detected a possible problem in the middle air itself.
The spokesman said, “The aircraft has landed safely in Hong Kong and is being investigated as a precaution.”
The airline said, “Alternative arrangements are being made to take passengers to Delhi as soon as possible.”
Air India also confirmed that all necessary assistance is being provided to reduce the inconvenience caused by unexpected disruption.
The incident came to light after the tragic incident of the aircraft AI 171 last week. The aircraft was also operated by Boeing 787–8 Dreamliner, which was going from Ahmedabad to London.
The aircraft crashed shortly after flying. The aircraft collided with a hostel of doctors at the BJ Medical College in Ahmedabad, resulting in 241 out of 242 people aboard the aircraft, as well as many people on the land.
The only survivor Vishwash Kumar Ramesh is currently undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, Air India in a statement released on Sunday thanked him for the cooperation of the Center and the Government of Gujarat after the AI 171 accident.
The airline appreciated the tireless efforts of doctors and employees of Civil and Rajasthan Hospitals in Ahmedabad. Also, the constant support given by the Tata group companies to the families of the victims was also appreciated.
Last week, Air India also announced an interim compensation of Rs 25 lakh for the families of every person who lost his life in the tragic AI 171 aircraft accident in Ahmedabad.
The same amount will also be given to the only survivors. This compensation is in addition to financial assistance of Rs 1 crore given by Tata Sons.
