Malaysian Airline Air Asia: Malaysian airline Air ASIA described the news of fire in one aircraft engine as misleading, saying that all passengers are safe. Air Asia has confirmed that the engine did not fire in the flight number AK 128. The aircraft made a safe return to Terminal 2 of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), about two hours after flying.
Airline clarification: no fire in engine, duct malfunction
According to the news of Male Mail, Air Asia clarified in a statement that the aircraft flying to Shengen (China) on Wednesday made a safe return due to a technical problem in an engine. The airline is claiming full responsibility that the engine did not fire. The aircraft had to return due to hot air due to damage to the duct. The aircraft is expected to return to service on 31 March after this malfunction is overcome.
Priority given to the safety of passengers
Air Asia said that the pilots requested landing, prioritizing the safety of the passengers and crew as soon as the technical fault was realized. The flight landed at KLIA Terminal-2 at 12.06 am under a barrier. All 171 passengers and six members of the crew were sent to the destination at 3:46 am by second aircraft. The aircraft made landing at Shenzen Baaon International Airport at 7.51 am today.
