Air India now also canceled Delhi-Paris flight

New Delhi, 17 June (IANS). Air India on Tuesday announced the cancellation of flight AI 143 from Delhi to Paris, as the compulsory investigation found any kind of problem before the flight, which is currently being resolved.

The company said in a statement, “As a result of the cancellation of flight AI 143 from Delhi to Paris, Return Flight AI 142 coming from Paris to Delhi on June 18, 2025 has also been canceled.”

The statement said, “Given the flight under the ban on night operation at Paris Charles de Gaul (CDG) airport, the flight has been canceled. We are sorry for the inconvenience to our passengers and we are making alternative arrangements to reach them as soon as possible.”

The company further said that they are providing hotel facilities to their passengers and are also offering full refunds on cancellations or complexirs on the option by passengers.

Earlier in the afternoon, flight AI-159-Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner from Ahmedabad to London-Gatwick was canceled due to unavailability of the aircraft. The aircraft, which was to leave at 1.10 pm, was grounded a few hours before the problem was detected after regular pre-flight investigation.

The sudden cancellation of the flight caused chaos at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, where many international passengers were trapped. It was a case of cancellation of flight for the second time in four days on Ahmedabad-Landan road.

The previous flight on 14 June was also canceled after the accident, in which 241 people aboard the aircraft and several other people on the ground were killed, causing the death toll to 270 so far.

Air India has removed flight number AI-171 and replaced it with AI-159 to symbolically reset it.

Another flight of Air India from San Francisco to Mumbai was also stopped at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata on Tuesday morning, as one of its engine was found to be a technical fault.

According to the report, the Director General of Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has also called an immediate virtual meeting with officials of Air India and Air India Express.
