New Delhi, 4 May (IANS). Air India on Sunday announced that it had suspended all its flights going to and from Tel Aviv with immediate effect after the missile attack near Tel Aviv Airport.
Air India said in a statement, “After the developments in Tel Aviv this morning, to ensure the safety of our customers and employees, our flights from Tel Aviv will be suspended by immediate effect till 6 May 2025. Our colleagues are assisting customers and helping them make alternative arrangements.”
The airline also said that the passengers holding a valid ticket for the journey from May 4 to 6 will be eligible for a one -time discount. This involves re -determining your journey without any penalty or choosing the option of full correspondence on cancellation. Customers have been advised to check the Air India website or contact the customer service for updates about their booking and further information.
Air India flight AI 139 was going from Delhi to Tel Aviv, when the missile from Yemen from Huti rebels fell near Ben Gurian Airport. The attack took place less than an hour before the flight landed.
The Air India aircraft flying in Jordan airspace was diverted to Abu Dhabi to save them from danger. The aircraft then left for Delhi and the return flight from Tel Aviv to Delhi was canceled for the day.
Air traffic was suspended at Ben Gurian Airport in Tel Aviv after the missile attack. Other global airlines like German career Lufthansa also suspended their flights to the city of Israeli due to the incident.
Israeli officials said that Ben Gurian, a missile fired from Yemen on Sunday morning, fell near the main terminal of the airport.
