Under the new liquor policy, liquor sales will stop at a total of 19 places, including 17 cities with religious importance.

According to the new policy released on Sunday, ‘low alcoholic beverages bar’ can be consumed only by beer, wine and ‘ready-to-drink’ drinks, in which alcohol content from 10 percent V/V (volume on volume) Will be less. Consumption of alcohol in these bars will be completely banned. Let us tell you that all these new rules are going to be implemented in Madhya Pradesh. Let us tell you that there are 460 to 470 times in the entire Madhya Pradesh and an official of the Excise Department said that the opening of these new times will increase its total number rapidly.

The government statement said that a total of 47 shops of liquor will be closed due to the sale of liquor at 19 places from April 1. There will be a ban on the sale of liquor in some other cities including Ujjain, Omkareshwar, Maheshwar, Mandleshwar, Orchha, Maihar, Chitrakoot, Datia, Amarkantak and Salkanpur. On January 23, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced a ban on the sale of liquor after approving the new excise policy. The state government will suffer a loss of about Rs 450 crore due to liquor ban.
Renewal fee will increase by 20 percent
However, there will be no ban on drinking liquor from other cities in cities where liquor sales will stop. Where shops are closed, there is a need to enact a law like Bihar Alcohol Prohibition Act 2016 to take liquor and ban drinking. Officials said that apart from Bihar, the liquor ban law is also applicable in Gujarat, while only the Excise Act is applicable in Madhya Pradesh. The government statement said that the renewal fees of liquor shops have been increased by 20 percent under the new excise policy for the next financial year.
