Amazon India has made these recruitments in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Chennai. The purpose of hiring lakhs of people is to deliver goods faster.
More than 1 lakh recruitments
In the company’s statement, Union Minister of Labor and Employment Mansukh Mandaviya has been quoted as saying, “Amazon’s move to create more than 1 lakh seasonal employment opportunities in India is a commendable step.” He said that it is very good to see that the company is hiring a large number of women and differently abled persons for these roles. Let us tell you that the company has hired thousands of women and about 1900 differently abled people.
Orders will increase during the festival
Diwali festival is about to come in India. On this, the company says that ‘We will deliver to every place in India this festive season as far as we can reach. More than 1.1 lakh people have been hired to achieve this goal.’ Abhinav Singh, VP of Operations, Amazon India, said, ‘During this time a huge increase in orders has been seen.’ Let us tell you that Amazon India has also started initiatives like Project Aashray which provides resting places for delivery people in cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Bangalore.
