New Delhi, June 19 (IANS) Amazon said on Thursday that it would invest more than Rs 2,000 crore ($ 233 million) to expand and upgrade the operational infrastructure in 2025, improve collaborative security and welfare programs, as well as to develop new tools and technology for its full fame network.
The company said in a statement that this new investment is in addition to the investment made by Amazon in creating an operational network, which helps the company to deliver to all service PIN-codes across the country.
Abhinav Singh, VP of Amazon India and Australia’s operations, said, “For more than a decade in India, we have been focusing on building the best class logistics infrastructure, designed to deliver security, speed and reliability for our customers across the country.”
Singh said, “By strengthening our basic structure capabilities, by increasing processing capacity and implementing state -of -the -art technology, we are preparing Amazon to provide better service to customers across India, supporting our employees, colleagues and partners.”
Amazon has planned to start new sites from these investments and upgrade existing features in its full fame, sortation and delivery network.
This will increase the investment processing capacity, improves the speed of fullfillment and increase the company’s operation network, which will help Amazon to serve customers across India rapidly and more reliable.
Amazon said that it would continue to invest and expand in initiatives aimed at improving the health and financial welfare of employees and colleagues in operational networks.
In December last year, in the fifth edition of its annual ‘possible summit’ in the national capital, the e-commerce company had announced to increase its export commitment four-fold to gain cumulative exports of more than $ 80 billion from India by 2030.
