Eaterials will include four major businesses (yet) – zomato, blinkit, district and hyperpire.
Online food and grocery delivery company Jomato said on Thursday that it has got the approval of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to change its name to ‘Eaterial Limited’ from March 20. According to PTI news, earlier the shareholders of Jomato had also approved a special proposal to change the name of the firm to ‘Eternational’ earlier this month. However, there has been no change in the brand name of Jomato, the company’s online food distribution business. Not only this, the app is also kept the same.
Eternal will have four major businesses
According to the news, the Eaterial will include four major businesses (yet) – Jomato, Blinkit, District and Hyperpire. Jomato said in a regulatory filing that we want to inform you that the company Registrar, Ministry of Corporate Affairs has approved the name of the company from ‘Jomato Limited’ to ‘Eater Limited’ from March 20, 2025.
Last month, Jomato founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal said that our board has approved this change and I request my shareholders to support this change too. If and when it is approved, our corporate website will turn from zomato.com to Eternal.com. We will also change our stock tick.
The decision was taken in view of the future of the blinking
Goyal then also said that the company’s decision to change the name publicly was in accordance with the Blinkit becoming an important driver for the future. When we acquired the blinkit, we started using internal (instead of zomato) to differentiate between the company and the brand/app. We also thought that we would publicly change the name of the company to eternal, the day something will become an important driver of our future beyond Jomato. Today, with the blinkit, I think we have reached there.
