New Delhi, 1 February (IANS). Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Saturday appreciated the general budget of FY 2025-26 by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and informed about the provisions made for the railway. He informed that about 100 Amrit Bharat, 200 Vande India and 50 Namo Bharat trains have been approved in the budget.
Ashwini Vaishnav told news agency IANS that a historical provision has been made for the middle class in the budget. An allocation of Rs 2.52 lakh crore has been made in this budget for the railway. This allocation will give a new wing to the development of the railway and the expansion and modernization of the railway network across the country will be rapid.
He said that the railway has expanded in the last few years under the leadership of PM Modi and now new projects have been approved by this budget. Around 100 Amrit Bharat trains, 200 Vande Bharat trains and 50 Namo Bharat trains have been approved in the budget. Apart from this, one thousand flyovers and underpasses will also be built, which will further improve the facilities of the passengers. In this budget of railway safety, Rs 1.16 lakh crore has been invested in this budget, which will further strengthen the security of the railway. Along with this, construction of new tracks, dabbling, tripling, new stations and new train services are part of this budget, which will further strengthen the railway network.
He further said that the construction of bullet train is also progressing rapidly. In this budget, more than 340 km bullet train line work has started. In this project, new and state -of -the -art techniques such as making tunnels under the sea are being used, which is happening for the first time in India. Apart from this, bridges and new station construction over rivers are also working rapidly.
Vaishnav said that this budget is in the interest of middle class people, millions of families of the country will get financial relief from this. No tax will be imposed on annual income up to Rs 12 lakh, which is a major relief for middle class families. Describing it as a “big gift for the middle class”, he said that this decision will save the families and open the way to get better facilities for them. In this budget, many important provisions have been made keeping the importance of investment in the development story of the Indian economy.
He said that the Finance Minister has maintained a very good balance. While on the one hand he has kept a capital expenditure of Rs 11 lakh 20 thousand crore, on the other hand, a tax exemption has also been given for middle class families, which has created a correct balance of development and goodness of the people. Many relief provisions have been made for farmers in this budget. Steps have also been taken towards creating new employment opportunities for the youth, which will increase employment opportunities and get a new direction to the employment market.
He further said that in this budget many important provisions have also been made for electronics manufacturing. The production of electronics products in India has increased, including mobiles, laptops, servers, medical devices and power electronics. This budget proposes several reforms related to electronics manufacturing, such as improvement in warehousing and custom provisions. This will further boost electronics manufacturing in India. Appreciating the provisions made in the budget for the semiconductor mission and AI mission, he said that both these missions have great possibilities for the country. India’s semiconductor program is being appreciated worldwide and a general computing facility has been created under the AI Mission, which will be helpful for all startups, students, teachers and researchers.
