New Delhi. Generally, banks are open on the first and third Saturday of every month while banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturday. In such a situation, according to the calendar of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), all the banks will remain closed on Saturday, 25th January because the Saturday falling on 25th January is the fourth Saturday of this month. Let us tell you that RBI classifies bank holidays into three types under the Negotiable Instruments Act: Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) holiday and closure of bank accounts. Bank holidays are notified through RBI’s official channels, which are the website and notifications to banks.

However, let us tell you that despite the bank holiday, online banking services will be available across the country to ensure banking convenience of the customers. Customers can use these services for convenient financial transactions.

Funds can be transferred using NEFT/RTGS transfer form, demand draft request form and check book form. Credit cards, debit cards and ATM cards can be obtained through card services.
