New Delhi. Like every month, there will be many holidays in banks in the new year too. Some of these holidays will be across India, while some will be in states. There will be no work in banks on these holidays. Bank holidays are decided by the Reserve Bank. According to the list of holidays of the Reserve Bank, there will be no work in all banks on New Year’s Day on January 1, 2025. Whereas on January 2, banks will remain closed in Mizoram and Kerala on New Year and Mannam Jayanti. There will be a bank holiday on January 5 due to Sunday. There will be no functioning of banks in some states on the occasion of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti on 6 January.
According to the list of the Reserve Bank, banks will remain closed on January 11, the second Saturday of the month and then on January 12, a Sunday. There will be a bank holiday in Punjab and some other states on January 13 due to the festival of Lohri. At the same time, on January 14, on the occasion of Makar Sankranti and Pongal, banks will not function in many states of the country. Bank holiday has been declared in West Bengal, Assam and Tamil Nadu on January 15 on the occasion of Thiruvalluvar Day and Tusu Puja. Banks will remain closed across the country on January 19 due to Sunday. There will be a bank holiday in Manipur on 22 January on the occasion of Imoin festival. There will be a holiday in banks in West Bengal and some states on January 23, the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Apart from this, there will be a bank holiday on 25th January, the fourth Saturday of the month and then on 26th January. There will be no work in banks located in Sikkim on the occasion of Sonam Losar on 30th January.
According to these holidays, you should decide the schedule of bank transactions from now on. Some holidays are to be held in different states. In such a situation, by looking at the above dates, you should check with the bank in advance whether your bank will be functioning on that date or not. However, banks will continue to provide other facilities including online transactions and ATM even on holidays.
