Banks will strike on Monday and Tuesday after Saturday and Sunday holidays
Bank Strike 2025: A bad news is coming for the common bank customers of the country. Next week, banks will strike for two consecutive days across the country. A nationwide bank strike is going to take place on March 24 and 25 under the leadership of the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) after the talks with the Indian Banks Association (IBA) are not successful. The strike is expected to affect banking services in all government, private and regional rural banks. Let us tell you that all the banks of the country will be closed due to the fourth Saturday of the month on 22 March and Sunday on March 23. After which there will be no work in banks due to the strike on Monday and Tuesday. In such a situation, common people will not be able to get their work done in the bank branch for 4 consecutive days.
What are the demands of bank unions
UFBU said on Thursday last week that a two -day nationwide strike on 24 and 25 March would be as per the schedule already scheduled. The UFBU said that there was no positive result in the talks with the Indian Banks Association on the major demands of the employee organization. Unions are demanding adequate recruitment at all jobs levels, so that adequate staffing can be ensured, temporary employees can be regularized, implemented 5 working day, withdrawing performance reviews, better security measures can be taken for bank officials and employees and increasing the boundary to Rs 25 lakh by amending the gratuity Act to Rs 25 lakh.
More than 8 lakh employees of 9 banks come under UFBU
The UFBU represents 9 bank unions, including more than 8 lakh employees of public sector banks, private banks, foreign banks, cooperative banks and regional rural banks. These unions include All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA), All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC), National Confederation of Bank Employees (NCBE) and All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOA). National Confederation of Bank Employees (NCBE) General Secretary L.K. Chandrasekhar said that despite the meeting, major issues are unresolved. The UFBU had earlier announced the strike on these demands.
