Provision for punishment was also made
According to the bill, if a person or promoter or his agent registered under this Act fails to follow the relevant provisions of the law, he will be sentenced to at least 5 years imprisonment, which can be extended for 10 years and a minimum fine of Rs 25 lakh, which can be increased to Rs 5 crore. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said, “The owners of illegal colonies cheat people by showing vegetables and selling their illegal colonies, which do not have basic citizens like street lights, sewerage and others. Now they will not be able to do this. He said that the state government has started color coding on stamp papers to facilitate investors in obtaining necessary permissions. The Chief Minister said that this would ensure that the maximum use of land is done only for the purpose for which investors ask for necessary permissions.
More than 14,000 illegal colonies in Panjba
Officially, the state has more than 14,000 illegal colonies. The government has also issued instructions to stop the increasing number of illegal colonies across the state. The main administrators of regional development authorities in Patiala, Bathinda, Ludhiana and Amritsar have been asked to submit a quarterly report about new unauthorized colonies, details of the action taken against colonizers and guilty officers, if any, if any, if any.
