Bharat Brand Sale: To curb rising prices, the central government will now also sell whole gram and lentils under the ‘Bharat’ brand. Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi said that through cooperative networks Indian National Cooperative Consumers Federation Limited (NCCF), National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited (NAFED) and Kendriya Bhandar, whole gram is being sold at Rs 58 per kg and masoor dal at Rs 89 per kg. Will be sold at the rate of kilogram. Joshi also introduced the second phase of this initiative.
Joshi said, we are selling our reserves held under the Price Stabilization Fund at subsidized prices. The government has allocated three lakh tonnes of gram and 68,000 tonnes of moong to the cooperative societies. NCCF Managing Director Anees Joseph Chandra said the distribution will start from Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra. There is a plan to expand it nationwide within 10 days. The Union Minister has expressed hope for better production of pulses this year, as the government has significantly increased the support price of pulses.

Current rates under the first phase are Rs 30 per kg for wheat flour (up from Rs 27.50), Rs 34 per kg for rice (up from Rs 29), Rs 70 per kg for gram dal (up from Rs 60). Are. Exemption from export duty on brown rice
The government has exempted parboiled rice and brown rice from export duty. According to the Finance Ministry, export duty on parboiled rice, brown rice and paddy has been reduced from 10 percent to zero. This relaxation became effective from October 22. Sources said that this fee reduction has been approved by the Election Commission, provided that no political benefit is taken from it. Elections are going to be held in Jharkhand and Maharashtra next month. Last month, the government had exempted non-Basmati white rice from export duty. To promote exports and increase the income of farmers, the minimum export price of Basmati rice has also been abolished.
