US President Donald Trump’s new tariff threats have shocked the notion of investors. Trump has warned to impose a “too much” duty on Indian exports. Trump took this tough stance, citing continuous purchase of Russian oil by India. Meanwhile, the stock market is now eyeing the meeting of the RBI Monetary Policy Committee, the results of which can further decide the market stand.
Talking about a few select -lead shares, the Nifty Auto index increased by 0.06 percent, while consumer durables saw a slight increase of 0.04 percent. At the same time, Nifty Oil and Gas dropped 1.16 percent. This was followed by a decline of 1.08 percent and 0.90 percent respectively in Pharma and FMCG sector. IT, infrastructure and energy sector were also weak. Banking share remained under pressure, the Nifty Bank Index fell 0.72 percent and PSU bank fell 0.57 percent.

The total market capitalization of companies listed in BSE declined to Rs 447.97 lakh crore on August 4, which was Rs 448.79 lakh crore on its previous trading day i.e. Friday, August 1. In this way, market capitalization of companies listed in BSE has increased by about 4.30 lakh crore rupees today. Or in other words, the assets of investors have increased by about Rs 4.30 lakh crore.
