Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, however, has said that the exact date of its implementation has not been announced yet. It has been said that it can be formed in the year 2026. He reiterated that the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission have already been implemented. The government will give information about the remaining details of the commission later. The members attending it will also be informed.
The recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission were implemented in January 2016.
According to the news, like previous commissions, this is expected to bring changes in salaries. This also includes amendments in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for retired employees. Earlier, the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, which were implemented by the Narendra Modi-led government in January 2016, will expire on December 31, 2025. More than one crore central government employees and pensioners are eagerly waiting for the formation of the 8th Pay Commission for revision of their basic salary, allowances, pension and other benefits.
State government employees are also waiting
Apart from the Centre, government employees at the state levels are also waiting for the formation of the 8th Pay Commission. Recent reports indicate that the fitment factor is likely to be increased from 2.57 to 2.86, which will have a significant impact on the basic pay of employees.
Basic salary can increase by this much
Suppose if the fitment factor is adjusted to 2.86, the current minimum basic pay of Rs 18,000 could potentially increase to Rs 51,480. Let us tell you here, the fitment factor plays an important role in determining the revised basic pay and pension of government employees and pensioners.
