Horticulture Officer of Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, Punit Kumar Pathak says that the government is promoting onion cultivation. Talking to Local 18, he said that under the National Agricultural Development Scheme, a target has been set to cultivate onions in 300 hectares of area in Shahjahanpur district. Farmers are also being made aware for this. Not only this, the government is also providing improved variety of onion seeds to the farmers for free. Farmers are also being given technical information for onion cultivation. Farmers can increase their income by cultivating onions.
The target is to cultivate onion in 100 hectares in Moradabad
In Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, the Horticulture Department has set a target of cultivating green onions on 100 hectares of land. The Horticulture Department is providing a subsidy of Rs 12,000 per hectare of land. To avail the benefits of this scheme, farmers will have to register online.
