A part of an engine was found outside Delhi airport on Wednesday. Aviation regulator DGCA has now ordered an inquiry into the matter. Although sources said that the metal part could be from the Air India Express plane, which made an emergency landing at the airport on Monday, the airline said that at the moment it cannot confirm whether these metal pieces belonged to its plane or not. According to PTI news, sources with knowledge said that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

According to the news, one of the sources said that these parts probably belong to the broken blades of the plane’s engine. When contacted, an Air India Express spokesperson said that their flight IX 145 had an engine problem after taking off from Delhi on September 2. This flight was going to Bahrain. The spokesperson said in a statement that the problem was rectified as per the laid down procedures and a precautionary landing was made in Delhi.

Once the new system is implemented, passengers will not have to carry their luggage while taking a connecting flight from Terminal-3.
