BSE takes these steps to avoid Pakistan's cyber attack on the stock market, know details

The major stock exchange BSE has directed the Trading Members (Market Participants) to take precautionary measures on potential high impact cyber attacks by strengthening the safety monitoring of the system with appropriate incident response plans with proper incident response plans. According to PTI news,

In a circular issued on Wednesday, BSE has asked market participants to take precautionary measures at possible cyber risks, including ransomware, supply chain infiltration, DDOS attacks, website defense and high-affected cyber attacks.

BSE active after CERT-in’s advice

According to the news, the BSE asked the trading members to investigate whether the necessary safety control exists, evaluate the risk and reduce any conclusion, strengthen the safety monitoring of the system with proper event response plans and increase the danger discovery activities. The purpose of these measures is to ensure a safe market. This instruction came after receiving an advice from the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-in). It highlights the cyber danger campaign targeting Indian organizations working especially in banking, financial services and insurance sectors.

Tightening cyber security networks

On Wednesday, sources said that BSE and NSE have taken precautionary measures by blocking their website for international users. In addition to exchanges, banks have tightened their cyber security networks to avoid any cyber threat in view of India starting missile attacks on Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir. Apart from this, banks have also increased their security in branches near the border areas due to the increasing threat to counter attacks.

India reversed in response to Pahalgam terror attack

In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian armed forces on Wednesday carried out missile attacks on nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including Jaish-e-Mohammed’s stronghold Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s base Muridke. Military attacks were carried out under ‘Operation Sindoor’, two weeks after the killing of 26 civilians by terrorists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
